Sustainability Statement
Mission statement
As a rapidly expanding company, we recognize that our actions, along with those of our suppliers and clients, will inevitably impact the environment. Nevertheless, we are fully committed to striving for maximum sustainability in all our practices.
We encourage environmentally friendly and humanitarian practices among our staff and evaluate the codes of practice of the companies we work with. We strive to engage with partners who share our commitment to responsible and sustainable actions.
Employees well-being
Managing employees welfare with a primarily remote workforce can be challenging. We will actively encourage our staff to voice any concerns, issues, or grievances if and when they occur. We will also provide dedicated time for discussions on how they can contribute to sustainability.
We respect the rights of all our employees and maintain a diverse and multicultural workforce, offering equal opportunities to everyone. At Netcare International, we select our employees based on their skills and mindset to ensure they align with our community values. Employment decisions are made solely on the basis of skills, without consideration of race, religion, or disabilities.
To support our employees’ well-being, we will implement regular virtual check-ins, provide access to mental health resources, and promote work-life balance initiatives. By fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment, we aim to enhance employees’ satisfaction and productivity.
Carbon footprint
Netcare International is committed to minimizing our carbon footprint by pioneering a 95% remote work model. We encourage all employees to work from home and reduce the use of local transport. Our office presence is limited to support staff, who are in the office just one day a week in Portugal.
- All meetings and gatherings are conducted virtually.
- The majority of our employees are contracted to work from home. While we cannot mandate a ‘green’ policy for all employees, we strongly encourage it.
- Our 2025 policy will focus on encouraging our workforce to adopt more sustainable home working practices.
- The reduction in commuting significantly decreases greenhouse gas emissions and mitigates the use of paper and plastics in the office.
- Although we maintain an office, it sees minimal use, thus reducing the need for heating, air conditioning, lighting, and other energy-consuming devices.
- When travel is essential, which is rare and involves only one or two employees, we strive to minimize our carbon footprint and any negative environmental impact.
Partners and vendors
At Netcare International, we prioritize working with partners and vendors who are dedicated to sustainability and the well-being of their employees. We choose companies that share our commitment to ethical practices and responsible operations.
We strictly avoid partnering with companies that use child labor or exploit their workforce for political or religious reasons. By carefully selecting our partners and vendors, we aim to build a network of like-minded organizations that support our values and goals. This approach helps us ensure that our business practices positively impact both people and the planet.
Policy review
We are committed to the continuous monitoring and evaluation of our policies to ensure that we act in the best interests of the environment, our employees, clients, and suppliers. This involves regularly reviewing our practices and making necessary adjustments to align with evolving sustainability standards and ethical guidelines. By engaging with stakeholders, gathering feedback, and staying informed about industry developments, we aim to foster a culture of responsibility and improvement.
Our goal is to create a positive impact through transparent and accountable policy management, ensuring that our actions reflect our values and commitments.
